To start- “WHO ARE GRIPPER AND GRABBER????? I've never heard of them!!”

I'm not shocked to hear this! Gripper and Grabber came from Bob the Builder, a stop-motion British animated show created by Keith Chapman and animated by HOT animation who made another show that YOU probably have at least seen merch of- Paw Patrol.

But this isn't about dogs with transformers as vehicles- This is about construction machines!

If you don't know. Bob the Builder had many movie length specials that would air and be direct to DVD, these would have more extravagant adventures with the Can-Do-Crew usually travelling to a new location. Whether that be a northern mountain town, an old abandoned wild west village, restoring an old castle, or even trying to tackle an impossible amount of jobs before a sibling comes down for Christmas! (featuring a side plot with an Elton John origin story, YES I am not making that up!!) Many exciting adventures happen in these specials. But why am I bringing it up?

Well because Gripper and Grabber originate in one of these specials!!

In 2008 (or 2009 if you lived in Canada and the USA) released the LAST EVER stop-motion special HOT animation produced before being liquidated into MATTEL, who now owns the Bob the Builder brand. It was called “Bob the Builder: Race to the Finish” and here is where our TRUE story starts!!

The plot is very simple on paper! Bob and his team need to build a sports stadium in their town Sunflower Valley for the upcoming Valley Games. Sounds easy! Right? Well- Bob only has 3 days to do EVERYTHING! Including foundations, structuring, electrical, and even PAINTING the whole thing!! Even worse comes when their star athlete gets injured day 1 of building, and Wendy takes his place. But before all this happens- Bob had a plan! Knowing how daunting this task was he “Ordered” (YES that's the term they use) some VERY special help!! That help was none-other than GRIPPER AND GRABBER!!
